Η μελοποίηση των καταβασιών της Υψώσεως τουΤτιμίου Σταυρού από τον Μπαλάσιο ιερέα (17ος αι.) γνώρισε μεγάλη διάδοση στο παρελθόν, μέχρι που αντικαταστάθηκε από την πιο συνοπτική εκδοχή του Πέτρου Λαμπαδαρίου (†1778).
